85th Anniversary Office Refurbishment
We have been able to mark this anniversary by refurbishing our premises. This enables us to improve our free service that we offer to people in need in Torbay. Over 3000 clients turned to us for help last year. Each Citizens Advice office is funded entirely through grants and fundraising and the level of income received has progressively reduced over recent years. The pressure on our resources has meant that funding has been used to provide essential services, so there has been no spare cash to keep our premises in a good state of repair. Our offices, waiting room and client interview rooms were all in dire need of a makeover.
However, businesses and organisations across South Devon have come to our aid to help refresh our premises & replace some of our fixtures. With the help of B&Q Torquay, EDF Energy, Flooring Matters in Heathfield, the five Torbay Rotary Clubs, SJ Dark and others, we have been able to repair & redecorate, replace the kitchenette, recarpet throughout & replenish broken chairs & desks as well as carrying out essential electrical work. Thanks to all these businesses & to the Rotary Clubs of Torbay for their support so that we can continue to deliver our vital services for people in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
